1XV | SHIRE SQUAD SELECTION

Aberdeenshire has a busy day coming up at The Fortress, Woodside, with both the 1XV and our social side Supa Twas in action!

The 1XV welcomes North Police Scotland RFC back to Woodside for what is sure to be one to watch!

A small change for the front row this week as Liam Reid moves from Hooker to Loosehead Prop to cover for the unavailable Shane Lafferty and to make way for Michael Mackie to wear the number 2 jersey. The Formidable Steven “Big” Cook retains the the Tighthead position.

Business continues as usual in the boiler room as Captain Frazer Forman (Sponsored by Allied International) and Paul Watson (Sponsored by Mother Goose Ltd) retain their positions.

However, we have a complete change to the Backrow as utility player Barry “Rugby Baz” Davies returns to his normal position at Blindside after a wee run about at Full-Back last week. He is joined by Number 8, Jason Burton, who moves from the bench to the starting XV while Kenny Penman covers the Openside.

This week Scrum-Half, Paul Harrow, is paired with Gav “The Chav” Cunningham who moves from Outside Centre to Fly-Half.

Andy Falconer is handed the 13 Jersey this week to cover for the still unavailable Tom Watson… Jonny “Gravy” Gray, as ever, retains his place at Inside Centre.

The Backline sees another wee switcheroo of Wingers Declan Coutts and Keiran Fultan while also seeing the return of Jamie Stephen (Sponsored by Allied International) to starting Full-Back.

Our Impact players this week are Steve Shrewsbury (Sponored by CGTech), Ross Keightley (Sponsored by Xodus), Thomas White and Ben Morris.

Meanwhile, our Supa Twas are back! Our Social Side welcomes Inverness Craig Dunain RFC to Woodside in Caley North 4. The Twas are captained by John Henderson who is supported by Vice-Captain Hamish Munro.

Both matches kick off at 2pm!

The Bar will be open with teas, coffees, hot chocolate and Tomato & Lentil Soup available alongside your usual tipples!

A boost from the side-lines will always lift a team, especially against tough opponents. So why not wrap up and spend the day at The Fortress!
