On Saturday 10th August, a team of 10 Quines travelled up to Huntly to take part in the Annual Strathbogie Cup. This was the first year that the Ladies Teams were invited along so it was sure to be a good day!

We started strong with a 36-0 win over Strathmore Ladies. The Quines played well, stopping Strathmore from getting any points past them throughout the game with tries coming from Kendal, Susanna (2), Linzi (2) and Isla. Some strong running from the girls in the second game lead to a win over Peterhead with a score of 31-14 - tries scored by Lisa, Kendall, Isla, Gemma and Louise - putting the Quines in a good position going into the final two games. Next up was ICD, the girls played well but ultimately couldn't hold up against the strong side from Inverness and lost 5-17 - try from Isla. Going into the final game however it was still all to play for! The hosts were up last and with both teams battling for a good finish the game was very close. Ultimately our Quines pulled it out the bag and won 36-26, bagging themselves second place overall in the Cup.

Well done to all who played and a special shout out should go to our newbies Lisa McGregor and Kendall Smith who all got their first taste of a competitive game. Shout out also to Susanna Pennala who made her debut with Quines at the competition.

Big thank you to Huntly RFC for hosting and ICD and Turriff Ladies for lending us a few players!
